About Us

Just Checking was developed as a result of talking to the families of people with dementia, who told us how much they worry about their relative who lives alone.

In 2004, with a UK government R&D grant we developed and piloted this innovative system with several UK social services authorities. Now 145 of the 206 UK local authorities use Just Checking for assessment and care planning, and thousands of professionals and family users log on each day. The company is independently owned by its management team.

We understand the importance of home, and how its familiarity helps people with short term memory problems to function. We love our      Just Checking home; our office is a refurbished saw mill situated right next to a canal in the middle of the English countryside. We appreciate the history and beauty of the old, and combine it with new technology to enjoy a good quality of life. We hope Just Checking offers the same to our service users and the people who support them.

In Australia, we’ve just started. Ellen Bragger, our business research manager, and an occupational therapist, is piloting Just Checking with organisations that are involved in dementia care. Ellen moved to Australia from the UK in 2011, having been part of Just Checking from its very early days. She knows the system inside out and has worked with scores of organisations to get the best out of Just Checking. If you’d like to know more, please visit our Australian website and contact Ellen Bragger.
