The 10 High Impact Changes for Mental Health Services
Launched by the Department of Health to help deliver the reforms outlined in the White Paper “Our Health, Our Care, Our Say”, the CSIP guide is available at www.nimhe.csip.org.uk/10highimpactchanges
High Impact Change 1: Treat home based care and support as the norm for delivery of mental health services.
Just Checking helps with home-based assessment and care planning. People with dementia perform much better in their own home where they are in familiar surroundings. Just Checking provides 24 hour, objective information on a person’s activities when they are in their own home.
High Impact Change 2: Improve flow of service users and carers across health and social care by improving access to screening and assessment.
Just Checking helps with the speed and accuracy of home-based assessment.
High Impact Change 5: Avoid unnecessary contact for service users and provide necessary contact in the right care setting.
Just Checking gives a continuous, objective assessment over a period of time, without the need for multiple visits. Care packages can be devised which are appropriate, concentrate on what the service user can do for themselves, and avoid unwelcome visits.
