Just Checking was developed as a result of talking to the families of people with dementia, who told us how much they worry about their relative who lives alone.
In 2004, with a UK government R&D grant, we piloted our system with several UK authorities to help practitioners understand the needs and abilities of individuals with dementia. Today, over 80% of UK local authorities use Just Checking for assessment and care planning across learning disabilities, older adults and reablement; with thousands of professionals and family users logging on each day.
Our ever-expanding team enjoy canal-side offices, where we spend our time providing customer support and further developing our systems.

Simon Price is Just Checking’s Chief Executive and co-founder. A chartered engineer, he was formerly involved in European research and development of assistive technology.
Celia Price, Director and co-founder, previously worked in European research and development of assistive technology for 15 years. She has an MSc in Gerontology and a particular interest in dementia.

Susie is responsible for listening to the needs of our customers and making sure our products and services offer the right support; whether that’s providing peace of mind to a family member or helping care professionals make person-centred care decisions.
Head of UK Development
Denzil and the Partnership Development team meet regularly with our clients, helping them get the most from Just Checking, gathering their feedback to help us improve the quality of our service.
Head of Technology
Matt leads the technical team in maintaining and updating the Just Checking systems, making sure Just Checking works 24/7, as well as taking care of our infrastructure and keeping an eye on emerging technology to use in the future.
The Partnership Development team
Our Partnership Development team provide face-to-face support for our customers, as well as identifying new organisations to work with. Every customer is assigned their own dedicated Partnership Development Manager, there to help you get the most from your Just Checking system and provide support, training and guidance.

Claire Thornley is a qualified Occupational Therapist who has spent the last 6 years working with adults with functional and organic mental health conditions. She has a special interest in assistive technology and is passionate about pioneering independence, promoting well-being and positive risk taking. She’s here to offer peer-to-peer support, clinical guidance, training and updates to care professionals working with Just Checking.
